The Van Sciver Library
Reading in a Bookstore

In Case You Don't Know

The Van Sciver Library is a sanctuary for students! This special space is 100% PTA-funded and operated, offering students a treasure trove of stories.

Thanks to the dedication of the library chair, Megan Petti, and a team of amazing volunteers, the library is more than just books. They read stories together and help students discover new literary adventures. It's a retreat from academic pressures where literacy thrives in a fun and engaging way.

Checkout Procedures

Thank you for helping us take care of our library books and make sure everyone has a chance to enjoy them!

Students may check out one library book each week

Books are due the following week when the class returns to the library

If a student forgets their book, they may not check out another one until it is returned or until the next library visit

If a book is two weeks late, a notice will be sent home as a reminder

Students with two or more missing books will not be allowed to check out any new books until at least one is returned

“Libraries allow children to ask questions about the world and find the answers. And the wonderful thing is that once a child learns to use a library, the doors to learning are always open”

– Laura Bush
